Xavier Pascual, head coach of FC Barcelona Lassa:
It is a pleasure for us to play here in Denmark. Many people love handball and it is a great play to play. Respect to Bjerringbro-Silkeborg on a good game. In the first half, they took the rhythm and Gonzalo Perez de Vargas had a lot of saves to help us stay in the game.
In the second half, when we put one player against Skube, we took three to four goals and that was the moment, when we won the game.
Peter Bredsdorff-Larsen, head coach of Bjerringbro-Silkeborg:
Congratulations to FC Barcelona on the win. It was well deserved. We were very happy with our performance in the first half, where we proved our thought that we could make a surprise today. We did continuously well in the defense and we had good chances. I think de Vargas was close to 10 saves. So, we did not get enough out of our effort in the first half.
And of cause it was a very big handicap for us that Rasmus Jensen was out with a red card already in the first half. I was very disappointed with that because I think it was an equally physical game. In our team, it is a big handicap that he is out, and in the second half, we lost momentum due to our own lack of execution of the big chances including two penalties. In the first 10 minutes of the second half, we lost our own level of performance and of cause as we have seen in many games, we came back and was only behind with one goal but at that time, we were playing on the edge of our abilities and we could not hold it. At the end, it was a well-deserved win for Barcelona but it was the seventh great performance by us in the VELUX EHF Champions League. Again, we showed that we can win in this tough group and we will come back strongly on Sunday in Barcelona.
Lasse Anderson, player of FC Barcelona Lassa:
It was a tough game. I think Bjerringbro-Silkeborg played a really good game especially in the first half. There were a great atmosphere here. I think, their goalkeeper had many saves in the first half but in the second half, we were in a higher gear and played with more intensity and at the end, we were happy with the win.
Klaus Thomsen, player of Bjerringbro-Silkeborg:
It thin, we have many reasons to be proud of our performances in a lot of matches in the VELUX EHF Champions League. Still, we need more coolness in many games. Bigger teams punish our technical faults and we have to improve that on the practice court. However, I think we have showed ourselves that we can match the teams in this competition.
